Spiderpug!

ok, so maybe i used this adorable pug picture to draw you in. but isn't he/she adorable!

but on a different note, i was sick the whole weekend.  i was feeling a bit sick on friday but decided a nap was enough to cure it and still went out. BAD IDEA.
this resulted in me having a cold/flu type bug the whole weekend.  i was definitely asleep more hours than awake. on saturday i visited a vegetarian restaurant, Seerose, in...kreuzberg? i think. it was buffet style and sooo tasty. real comfort food which is exactly what i wanted and needed.
i promptly went home and slept. the next day i had planned on meeting Ida and her visiting sister at Mauer park.  I need a bike basket so i figured it would be a good place to go.
after suffering a 20 minute long coughing fit on the train there, i was kinda over it.
i couldn't find her, we were both talking of different orange juice stands so i just threw in the towel, bought a delicious tofu burger and went home to sleep.
but all that sleeping has paid off because today i feel a lot better!

early in the morning i had microbiology and finally built up the courage to speak with the professor.  i didn't really understand what he was saying but i got enough from the conversation to figure out where to find the list of Praktiuum. I am in the class! but the lab interferes with another of my classes...
well, guess i'm only taking 4 classes this semester!
went home for a bit, bought some spiral notebooks and my chemistry reader than headed to my german course.
i met a nice chinese woman in the elevator who was in my class.
it seems like an interesting class at a good level for me. it;s challenging but i can still definitely get by.
and i was SO excited to understand almost all of what the professor was saying. it was great!
there's quite a few british girls in the class, some french people and then russian girls.
it's unfortunate because i feel like they're separating into home-country which sucks. well, i have a chinese friend so i'm not giving into that!

when i got home i had a little mental freak out over being actualy enrolled in classes and the books and what-not. so i emailed all my professors, even the one for the class i dropped, and let them know i exist.  after frantically IMing my international student dozent about where to buy books, i found out there is no central bookstore.  You buy the readers at random places around campus and you buy the textbooks in various bookstores in Berlin.
i really got lucky with having such nice advisors, they're all so friendly!

i took a little jog and i'm not really sure where the time went from there.
oh ya, i freaked out again over staying the year. it;s really favorable to stay the year but it can really put me in a bind academically which sucks. so more waiting i guess!  like i told my mom, it sucks when you feel immense pressure coming from all sides and the situation is still kind of out of my hands, but still totally my own choice...

anyhow, i have my very first biology lab tomorrow afternoon and i'm totally terrified. i saw the people in their lab coats today and am not sure if i'm supposed to have one of those...i'm also nervous because this means i'll have to converse with **gasp** other non-international students!
but really, they speak incredibly fast, it's insanely intimidating.
i'm sure it will be fine, i just hope i have an understanding lab partner, and i understand bio really well, but in german...
wish me luck!

Hi Becky,
Have you missed any of Berlin, yet? I remember all the Western places you mentioned. If you could post some shots of the Ku-Damm, it would be great.
