Biergartens macht Spaß!

I'm currently in the PC-Pool at the Freie Uni. Class ended a bit ago and I'm just doing some catching up. It's better to go on the interent because its free, rather than going to an internet cafe for a 1€/hour.

today was good but i was verrry tired. last night me and all my class friends stayed out relatively late (23:00) at the Prater Biergarten. The Vokurs program I'm in organized a big get together for us students. So all the international students, about 70 met at the Biergarten. It was so much fun to get to know everyone better and i met a lot of new people. Plus, we were able to practice our german on other real germans.

I am happy to say that i finished not one, but two whole beers!
I got a Berliner Wieße mit rot (thanks dad for the suggestion!). Sooo tasty, definetely a childs drink because it tasted like juice. I think it's a new(only?) favorite drink. And then i graduated to a Heffe Weiße. This is a light wheat beer. Good...for beer.
I keep getting told i'm going to have to learn to love bier here while in Berlin. Appreciate maybe, but love? We'll see, I'll keep you posted.

That was a great time but walking home alone, not so fun. I mean it's a very safe community, but there is a closer station on a different train that I'm going to need to learn how to take. Because it's just not a good idea to be walking around anywhere at night alone. I had my keys lodged between my fingers just-in-case.

But earlier that day i met another girl in my dorm. She's german but spent a year in america. She was very friendly and invited me to see a movie with her friends. I couldn't go because of the biergarten but its nice to start meeting people. So the dorms aren't so schrechtliches, i'm just a bit of a drama queen.

but in good news, a kid on my floor buys interent for the whole floor and sells the password for 5€/month. Wayy better and more convenient than the 25€/month service offered by the dorm.
so pictures coming soon. and i'll take some of my pals also :)

bis später!

Becky-

Isn't the Tiergarten S-Bahn station near your dorm? I can't believe that they charge for the inrenet at your dorm, let alone 25 Euros a month.

i know. thats a ridiculously high price for internet. it's free on the university campus but as you know, my laptop isnt the most portable...
but the s-bahn station is right next to my dorm, i just have never used the s-bahn and didn't want to try for the first time late at night.
my friend takes the s-bahn home but turns out her train was broken so she had to take a long, strange connection of busses to get home.

but i'll be picking up the time cards and information soon, definitely before i go out again.
